Robotic FX a competitor for 3,000 robot contract

Defense News reported last week that Robotic FX, the company iRobot is suing and alleging swiped its designs, is competing for the military's 3,000 robot contract expected to be awarded this Friday.

Five days after iRobot sued a rival robot maker, U.S. Marshals on Aug. 22 seized paper shredders at the Fort Worth, Ill., offices and homes of two Robotic Fx employees suspected of destroying evidence, according to documents filed in state and federal court by iRobot officials.
Acting on a temporary restraining order issued the previous day by the U.S. District Court in northern Alabama, the marshals also seized devices that erase hard drives and destroy compact disks, iRobot attorney Ruffin Cordell wrote in a request for a preliminary injunction against Robotic Fx. ... In an interview, Cordell said his firm asked for the restraining order after a private investigator hired by iRobot saw Ahed take documents and other materials from his office on Aug. 17, load them into a car, and, later that night, throw them into a dumpster.
“We retrieved different things relating to iRobot, such as commercial software used at iRobot. There was one particular item recovered that appears to be a replica of iRobot internal technology,” Cordell said.
Wild stuff. Sorry for the delay in posting this important info. Robotic FX denied wrongdoing and blamed the suit on the battle over the contract.

Thx, wealjays
